Application Engineer - PCK621-24317 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job ID: 11496 Position Description: Chemical Products Division Nesquehoning Plant POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Application Engineer - FPP DEPARTMENT: Nesquehoning, FPP REPORTS TO: Director of Operations FLSA STATUS: Exempt SUMMARY: Responsible for application engineering of custom Fluoropolymer heat exchangers. Interface with customers and sales managers to provide thermal designs for chemical process applications being quoted, and technical assistance regarding our products and their capabilities. Work with engineering and operations to guide the manufacture of specialty products and new product development. Provide technical assistance and application training to the sales team and customers in written, verbal and presentation form. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage all aspects of the application design and engineering of the Fluoropolymer heat exchanger line. 2. Analyze customer application data and recommend appropriate product. 3. Create supporting documentation for customers, manufacturing and vendors required to manufacture the product. 4. Create and submit quotations for new and special customer requests. 5. Manage the special product requests which include creating pricing, obtaining costs of special parts and creating assembly and part drawings for manufacturing. 6. Train new salesmen and representatives on our product, its capabilities, limitations and typical applications. 7. Interface with sales, manufacturing and customers to resolve technical problems. 8. Learn the extrusion and heat exchanger fabrication process. 9. Improve the company's understanding of the materials and processes associated with current and future products. 10. Identify and implement improvement opportunities in the manufacturability of heat exchangers and tubing. 11. Responsible for certifying finished products to given standards. Position Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 2+ years of relevant experience. 2. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science, BSChe or BSME preferred. 3. Experience in Heat Transfer, Boiler Design, Polymer related Materials Science and Chemical Processes. 4. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills required. 5. Must have the capability of using a computer for data analysis and acquisition, word processing, spreadsheet operation, e-mail communication and database management. 6. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision toward attainment of goals. 7. Proficiency with AutoCAD. 8. Strong leadership, project management, decision-making and problem solving skills required. 9. Good judgment and the demonstrated ability to interact with customers, vendors, hourly employees, and co-workers.
