Job Description

Facilities Maintenance Technician 3 rd shift

Under general supervision, facilities maintenance technician is responsible for operations of, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of R&D, GMP, GLP, Office area, utilities as well as related equipment. Maintenance and repair of plant utility equipment and systems in a biopharmaceutical research environment requires the individual to do maintenance on various equipment in the central utility systems at Brandywine. System operation includes, but is not limited to operation, repair and preventative maintenance of Bio-Waste systems ,HVAC systems, in house hydronic systems, hot water reheat skids and other essential equipment on site The ability to function in a fast­ paced, highly-technical environment, and communicate effectively is essential to success. This position will require some Off hour emergency response.

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on non- process equipment.

  • Operation, maintenance and repair of plant utility equipment and systems in a R&D research environment.

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on, HVAC package units, Split systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, computer room units and refrigeration units.

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on, Bio-waste system, purified water systems, clean steam systems, and chemical treatment equipment.

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on, steam boilers, chillers, purified water systems, clean steam systems, pumps & drives, cooling towers, and chemical treatment equipment.

  • Perform and/or assist in performing troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis on utility and process equipment and systems.

  • Required to cross train with maintenance technicians.

  • Required to use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Excel.

  • He will also maintain an inventory of critical spare parts for the equipment that they are responsible for.(HVAC)

  • Works with the EAM work orders system for preventive Maintenance work orders

  • Perform and/or assist in performing troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis on utility and non-process equipment and systems.

  • Required to read, understand and work from Standard Operating Procedures and P&ID’s.

  • Must have ability to lift up to 45 pounds

  • Required to participate in on-call rotation and work extended hours when required.

  • Must be willing to learn the basic operation of the Siemen BMS system.

  • Required to complete any required cGxP documentation, logbooks, work orders, and purchase requisitions.

Qualifications

  • Requires 3 to 5 years- experience operating, maintaining and repairing utility systems including HVAC, steam, and electrical.

  • Bio-waste system, purified water systems, clean steam systems, and chemical treatment equipment.

  • Must have the ability to think critically and accept responsibility for assignments.

  • Follow job procedures and maintain work area in a safe, organized manner.

  • Maintenance and repair of plant utility equipment and systems in a biopharmaceutical research environment.

  • Exhibits good oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Abide by all company and departmental policies and expectations.

  • Take ownership of assigned equipment and/or areas of responsibility.

  • Remain current in field and continuously improve through various means such as continuing education, professional journals, seminars, on-line research, etc.

  • Be capable of working on all facility related equipment or systems alone or with the assistance of a contract staff member.

  • Maintenance and repair of plant utility equipment and systems in a biopharmaceutical research environment requires the individual to oversee personnel regarding the operation and maintenance of the various central utility systems at Brandywine.

  • Order to coordinate work requests and manage the work processes related to maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and operation of the facilities under his responsibility.
